In 1993 and 1994, Professor Dennis Lam Shun-chiu was consecutively selected as the "Most Polite Doctor" at the Prince of Wales Hospital. He was involved in the preparation of the Lifeline Express, established the Action for Vision Eye Foundation, and planned the ""Caring is Hip"" rural poverty alleviation medical program. In November 2006, he, along with other medical professionals from Hong Kong, launched the "Project Vision Charitable Foundation," focusing on poverty alleviation and blindness prevention in mainland China. Through his methods and dedication, he has served the community and become a role model for many.

1 9 9 3 年和1994年，連續兩次獲選為威爾斯親王醫院的“最有禮貌醫生”。林教授曾參與健康快車籌備工作、成立光明行動護眼基金，策劃「關心是潮流」農村扶貧醫療計劃，於2006年11月與其他香港醫學界人士發起亮睛工程，主力在中國內地進行扶貧及除盲的工作。他憑藉自己的方法和努力，服務社群，是許多人的好榜樣。
